Descriptive Stats

If we want to take proper decision we need data. But data in itself is huge and going through all data is time consuming. Inorder to get required information we can use Descriptive Statistics.

Following are the Descriptive Statistics available for Numerical Data:-

 Comparison Statistics:-
1) A t-test comparing variable's value against zero
2) W or D statistics to test whether data are normally distributed.
3) Normal prob plot, comparing your cumulative freq distribution to a normal distribution

Variation Statistics:-
 1) Variance
 2) Standard Deviation
 3) Coefficient of Variation
 4) Uncorrected and corrected sum of squares
 5) Standard error of the mean
 6) Skewness
 7) Kurtosis

Extreme Statistics:-
 1) Maximum
 2) Minimum
 3) Five highest and five lowest values

Location Statistics:-
 1) Mean
 2) Range
 3) Median, 3rd, and 2nd quartiles
 4) Interquartile Range
 5) Mode
 6) 1st,5h,10th,90th,95th, and 99th percentiles
 7) Stem-and-leaf plot
 8) Boxplot
1) Number of observations.
